Write it once.
Post it everywhere.

Crossposter is a free browser extension that shares any post — text, images, and even video — from one social network to all the others. Right-click a post, yours or someone else's, and it grabs the media and fills each site's own composer — you just press Post.

See it in action

Twenty seconds from a post you like to every composer pre-filled.

Images and video travel with the post

Crossposter doesn't just copy text — it moves the media too, from one network's player straight into the next network's uploader.

Downloads the real video

Grabs the original video file from X, LinkedIn, or Bluesky — no screen recording, no third-party ripper. Stream-only (HLS) videos are converted to MP4 right in your browser.

Carries images and alt text

Photos come along at full quality, and their alt text is captured and editable so your posts stay accessible everywhere.

Uploads it natively

The media is re-uploaded into each network's own composer as genuine files — so videos play natively on every platform instead of linking back to the original site.

How it works

No accounts to connect, no API keys, no dashboard. It works where you already are: your browser.

1

Right-click a post

On any supported network — right-click (control-click on a Mac) any post, yours or anyone else's, and choose Crosspost. Selections, images, and videos work too.

2

Edit once, pick networks

The composer captures the text and media. Tweak the wording, review alt text, and toggle the destinations you want.

3

You press Post

Crossposter opens each network's own signed-in composer, pre-filled. Nothing is published automatically — every final Post click is yours.

FAQ

The short version: it's not another social media management service. It's your browser doing the legwork.

How is this different from Buffer?
Buffer (like Hootsuite and similar tools) is a paid third-party service: you connect your accounts to their platform, your posts flow through their servers, and you pay a monthly fee per channel. Crossposter takes the opposite approach:
  • Completely free. No subscription, no per-channel pricing, no "free plan" limits to outgrow.
  • 100% local. Everything runs inside your browser. Your posts, media, and sessions never touch a third-party server.
  • No account connections. You never hand over OAuth access or credentials to anyone. Crossposter simply uses the sites you're already signed into.
  • Works with private Instagram and Facebook accounts. Because it fills each site's own composer in your logged-in browser, it works with personal and private accounts that scheduling APIs don't support.
  • No API rate limits or platform approvals. Crossposter doesn't depend on each network's partner API staying available or affordable — it uses the same composer you do.
  • You stay in control. Nothing is ever auto-published. Each network's native composer opens pre-filled and waits for your click.
  • Native features stay available. Because you finish in the real composer, you can still add polls, tag people, pick a reel cover — anything the site itself offers.
The trade-off: Crossposter doesn't schedule posts for later or post while your browser is closed — it's built for "share this everywhere, right now."
Can I share other people's posts, or only my own?
Both. Crossposter captures whatever post you right-click — something you wrote, or a great post you spotted in your feed and want to share on your other networks. The text and media land in the composer either way, so you can add your own commentary or credit the original author before posting. Just respect the original creator's rights and each platform's terms.
Does it post automatically?
No — and that's deliberate. Crossposter never clicks a final Post button. It opens each network's own composer, pre-filled with your text and media, and leaves the final click to you. You always see exactly what's about to go out, on each network, before it does.
Do I need to give it my passwords or connect my accounts?
Never. Crossposter doesn't ask for credentials, tokens, or account connections. You sign in to each social network normally, in your own browser, and Crossposter uses those existing sessions.
Which networks are supported?
Crossposter works in both directions across X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Upscrolled, Instagram, and Facebook — share a post from any of them, to any of them.
Does it handle images and video?
Yes — media travels with the post. Crossposter downloads the original photos and video (with a built-in video downloader for X, LinkedIn, and Bluesky; stream-only HLS videos are converted to MP4 right in your browser) and uploads them as genuine files into each destination's own composer. Image alt text is captured and editable along the way.
Is my data collected or tracked?
No. There's no backend, no analytics service, and no account. Captured posts and media live in your browser's local storage while you compose, and that's it.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Crossposter is completely free — there's no server infrastructure to pay for, so there's nothing to charge you for.
